Spring is approaching, and many beaches will begin to close specific sections to protect their inhabitants and migratory bird nesting places. 

Respect the closures and watch the tiniest of birds take over the beach. 

Piper plovers chicks are flightless for almost three weeks but love exploring the beach. 

They face many dangers and are endangered in New York City. 

For this trip, please always keep your dogs on a leash and do not walk them near the bird breeding sites.
